What are symptoms?
  • headache
  • balance problems
  • problems swallowing
  • sleep apnea
  • numbness or pain in an extremity
  • pain when coughing, sneezing, yelling and bending forward
  • tinnitus
  • vertigo
  • hearing loss
  • blurred or double vision
  • jerking eye movements
  • trouble tracking or following object with your eyes
  • fatigue
  • weakness in limbs
  • poor hand coordination
  • trouble speaking/ word finding
  • problems with memory or concentration
  • nausea
  • frequent urination
  • irregular heart beat
  • drop attacks (falling down for with no apparent cause)
Treatment
There is currently no cure for Arnold Chiari Malformation. Neurologists and Neurosurgeons monitor patients, prescribe medicines to try and ease symptoms and pain. Routine MRI's are down to monitor herniation and CSF flow. Decompress surgery may become needed. THIS IS STILL NOT A CURE.
